Alberto Cruz III

Alberto Cruz III, 52, went to be with our Lord, Monday, June 17, 2024. Albert ( Little Al ) was a dedicated Father who did anything for his girls and son. His kids were his pride and joy. He absolutely adored his 3 Granddaughters. He was the one person they could always count on to be there when they needed him. He was a big Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed barbecuing for the family anytime he could, and if a game was on, then he made sure the pit was lit. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes that he enjoyed doing with his son Troy. He was loved by his Siblings and numerous Cousins whom he cherished many memories with, especially growing up and spending his summers at the Boys and Girls Club with them. Albert was a big "Mommas Boy" perhaps because he was her first born, and also the first Grandchild on his father's side. He adored his Mom just the same. He was also extremely close to his one and only baby sister, Amalie. He was not only her Big Brother but a father figure to whom she could always turn to for advice and guidance. He also enjoyed hanging out with his Best Friend his Baby Brother Marky. Sharing many great memories together and just reminiscing about good old days. He was so proud of his Sister Lisa and all his nieces and nephew always letting them know he was just a phone call away. Everyone who knew Albert, will remember him for his outgoing and happy personality who enjoyed making people laugh with his great sense of humor. Albert will be truly missed and will forever be remembered as The Gentleman. Alberto is survived by his loving family, his wife: Erica Cruz, mother: Maria Elena Cortez, 1 son: Troy Lee Cruz, 2 daughters: Brianna Amalie Cruz, Star Cruz, 3 grandchildren: Everly Cardenas, Esperanza Cardenas, Arielynn Sanchez, 2 sisters: Amalie (Roel) Flores, and Lisa Marie Coello, 1 brother: Mark Anthony Cruz, 4 nieces/nephews: Iliana Flores, Natalie Flores, Maria Guadalupe Cruz, and Marcos Alberto Cruz. He is preceded in death by his father: Alberto Cruz Jr., Maternal grandparents: Guadalupe Moreno Cortez, and Antonio Cortez, Paternal Grandparent: Alberto Cruz and Esperanza Cruz, and numerous Maternal Aunts and Uncles. Visitation for Alberto Cruz III will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 1:00pm to 9:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be Friday, June 21, 2024, with a departure at 12:30pm for Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church at 1:00pm, and interment will follow directly to Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction and care of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Harlingen Texas.
