Barbara Ann Santos

Barbara Ann Santos, 88, entered eternal rest on March 17, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara dedicated many years of her life to serving others as a Registered Nurse, a profession she carried out with compassion and commitment until her retirement. In her younger years, she shared a love of sports with her beloved husband, and together they enjoyed hunting and fishing. Barbara found joy in life's simple pleasures, listening to country music, traveling, working on crossword and puzzle books, and baking for those she loved. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family, who will forever cherish her love, warmth, and unwavering devotion. She is survived by her three sons: Robert Santos (Diana) of Harlingen, Texas, Anthony Santos of Livingston, Texas, and Michael Santos of Harlingen, Texas. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Breanna Compean Flores (Jaime), Justin Santos, Lyzette Terman (Geoff), Keegan Santos (Felicia), Christopher Santos (Jessica De La Rosa), Debra Hannon (Haley), and Liz Reece (Garrett); as well as seven great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Anita Perrone of Pennsylvania. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Antonio L. Santos, her parents, Louis and Hattie Perrone, and her brother, Louis F. Perrone. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen, Texas. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. for a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Harlingen, Texas, with Fr. Agit Baliar Singh, SS.CC. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery in Harlingen, Texas. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Greater Valley Hospice for their compassionate care and support during this challenging time. They also thank all family and friends for their prayers, love, and support over the past several years. Pallbearers will be Robert Santos, Michael Santos, Justin Santos, Keegan Santos, Jesse Saldana, and Jessica Cadenas. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
