Elisa Delgado de Ramirez, 54, entered into eternal rest on June 17, 2026, in Mercedes, Texas, surrounded by her loving children. Elisa was, in the words of her five children, a beautiful, relentless, reliable, noble, and strong mother, a woman of unwavering faith and the most amazing mother they could have ever asked for. Throughout her life, Elisa remained faithful to God. Though her faith was tested, it was never broken. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love, strength, and guidance were the foundation of her family. After receiving her residency in 2006, Elisa made it a priority to take her children to Mexico each year so they could spend time with her family and remain connected to their roots. These annual trips to the family ranch, El Triunfo, in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, held deep meaning for her. Elisa was incredibly proud of her family and wanted her children to carry that same pride and closeness to their heritage. Elisa found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved to color, dance, listen to music, and, above all, spend time with her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed preparing her family’s favorite meals, including homemade flour tortillas, beans, mole, tamales, and pozole, among many others. Elisa was her children’s biggest supporter in every season of life, always attentive to their wants and needs and always doing her best to make sure they felt loved and cared for. She also made it a point to create special memories with her children through family movie nights, complete with pizza and laughter. They watched so many movies together that they memorized the lines, and those evenings remain some of the family’s most treasured memories. Elisa’s love, strength, and memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. She is survived by her five children: Cesar Ramirez and his wife, Kianna, of Weslaco, Texas; Diego Ramirez and his wife, Evelyn, of La Feria, Texas; Elizabeth Ramirez of Mercedes, Texas; Alexis Ramirez and his wife, Ashley Barron, of Mercedes, Texas; and Jonathan Gonzalez of Mercedes, Texas. Also surviving Elisa is her mother, Florencia Delgado of Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico; her five grandchildren, Leah Marie Ramirez, Santana Ramirez, Eleanor Grace Ramirez, Cruz Ramirez, and Azariah Alex Ramirez; and her seven brothers, Jesus Francisco Delgado Alvarez, Matilde Delgado Alvarez, Roberto Delgado Alvarez, Lauro Delgado Alvarez, Jose Ignacio Delgado Alvarez, Fidel Delgado Alvarez, and Javier Delgado Alvarez. Elisa was preceded in death by her father, Margarito Delgado. Visitation will take place on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Mercedes, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, with a chapel service at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Deacon Joe Torres. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mercedes, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Cesar Ramirez, Diego Ramirez, Alexis Ramirez, Jonathan Gonzalez, Elias Ramirez, and Javier Delgado. Elisa fue, en las palabras de sus cinco hijos, una madre hermosa, incansable, confiable, noble y fuerte; una mujer de fe inquebrantable y la madre más maravillosa que pudieron haber tenido. Elisa encontraba alegría en los momentos sencillos y significativos de la vida. Le gustaba colorear, bailar, escuchar música y, sobre todo, pasar tiempo con sus hijos y nietos. Disfrutaba especialmente preparar las comidas favoritas de su familia, entre ellas tortillas de harina hechas a mano, frijoles, mole, tamales y pozole, por mencionar algunas. Elisa fue el mayor apoyo de sus hijos en cada etapa de sus vidas, siempre atenta a sus deseos y necesidades, y siempre haciendo todo lo posible para que se sintieran amados y cuidados. También se esmeraba en crear recuerdos especiales con sus hijos por medio de noches de películas en familia, acompañadas de pizza y risas. Vieron tantas películas juntos que llegaron a memorizar los diálogos, y hasta el día de hoy, esos momentos siguen siendo algunos de los recuerdos más preciados de su familia. El amor, la fortaleza y la memoria de Elisa vivirán para siempre en el corazón de sus hijos, sus nietos y de todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla y amarla. También le sobreviven su madre, Florencia Delgado de Río Bravo, Tamaulipas, México; sus cinco nietos, Leah Marie Ramirez, Santana Ramirez, Eleanor Grace Ramirez, Cruz Ramirez y Azariah Alex Ramirez; así como sus siete hermanos, Jesus Francisco Delgado Alvarez, Matilde Delgado Alvarez, Roberto Delgado Alvarez, Lauro Delgado Alvarez, Jose Ignacio Delgado Alvarez, Fidel Delgado Alvarez y Javier Delgado Alvarez. Elisa fue precedida en la muerte por su padre, Margarito Delgado. La velación se llevará a cabo el lunes 22 de junio de 2026, de 1:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., con el rezo del Santo Rosario a las 7:00 p.m., en la Capilla de la Paz de Rudy Garza, en Mercedes, Texas. Los servicios funerarios se celebrarán el martes 23 de junio de 2026, con un servicio de capilla a las 10:00 a.m., oficiado por el Diácono Joe Torres.
