Ester Garcia Villarreal

Ester Garcia Villarreal, 74, entered into eternal rest on December 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving children. She lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication, and her passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew her. Ester is survived by her two children, Joel Villarreal (Diana) of California and Anessa Yvette Villarreal of Harlingen, as well as six grandchildren: Joella Maire Villarreal, Viauna Luzada (Randy), Victor Barrera, Jessica Barrera, Amber Elizabeth Villarreal (Steve White), and Jackie Francesca Villarreal. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Amelia Garcia, Gabriel Sierra, Anthony Joel Melgoza, Lizette Sierra, Andrew Melgoza, and Maxine Ester Villarreal White. Also cherishing her memory are her four siblings: Gloria Chairez, Antono Garcia III (Adela), Eloy Garcia, and Elsa Garcia. Ester was especially proud of her five godchildren: Lucinda Ramos, Michele Ramirez, Amanda Ramirez, Claudia Ortiz, Erik Chairez, and Nancy Gonzalez. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose Luis Villarreal, as well as her parents, Antonio and Brijida Garcia. She joins her seven siblings who have also passed: Victor Garcia, Dominga Clough, Maria Martinez, Ramiro Garcia, Elvira Lugo, Juan Garcia, and Ernesto Garcia. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Angels in Harlingen, with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, with a 1:30 pm departure for a 2:00pm Mass at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, officiated by Deacon Juan Zamora. Funeral services will conclude at the church. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to Tia Gloria Chairez, Joann Rosales, Michele Ramirez, for their unwavering love, support, and care, both mentally, physically, and financially. They would especially like to thank Jessica Alvarez, “Miss Becky with the good hair,” a Registered Nurse at Harlingen Medical Center, for her compassionate care, always going above and beyond to comfort Ester through music and massages, making her feel safe, loved, and at peace. Pallbearers will be Eloy Teran, Arturo Cariaga, Jr., Daniel Villarreal, Daniel Villarreal, Jr., Andy Ryan Villarreal, and Joseph Huerta. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
