Genoveva Montalvo Salazar

Genoveva Montalvo Salazar, 53, entered into eternal rest on February 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving husband and children. Genoveva was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. She was a woman of deep faith who generously gave her time and heart to helping others, often placing the needs of those around her before her own. Her strength was quiet yet remarkable; she carried life’s burdens with grace, never letting others see her struggles, and always offering encouragement, compassion, and love. She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 25 years of marriage, Tomas Rodriguez Salgado; her cherished children, Steven Rodriguez, Citlali Rodriguez, and Thomas Rodriguez; and her loving parents, Julio Montalvo and Natalia Salazar. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, Onesimo, Epifanio, Antonio, Juan, Julio, Victor, Flavio, and Maria Guadalupe, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts. Genoveva was truly beautiful inside and out. She had an amazing sense of style and took great joy in dressing in her western wear, always carrying herself with grace and confidence. She loved animals and plants, and she found peace and happiness outdoors, tending to her garden and caring for the things she nurtured. She enjoyed biking, trips to the beach, and especially loved listening to and singing worship music, which reflected the deep faith that guided her life. Above all, Genoveva’s greatest joy was her family. She loved her husband and her three beautiful children with all her heart, and her love for them was evident in everything she did. Her legacy of love, faith, kindness, and strength will live on in each of them and in all who were blessed to know her. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jorge Herrera. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen. Genoveva fue una esposa, madre, hija, hermana y amiga ejemplar, cuya calidez y bondad tocaron el corazón de todos los que la conocieron. Fue una mujer de profunda fe que siempre ofrecía su tiempo y su corazón para ayudar a los demás, poniendo muchas veces las necesidades de otros antes que las suyas. Su fortaleza era silenciosa pero admirable; enfrentó las pruebas de la vida con gracia, sin dejar ver sus batallas, brindando siempre ánimo, compasión y amor. Genoveva fue una mujer hermosa por dentro y por fuera. Tenía un gusto especial por vestir con estilo, disfrutando especialmente de su ropa vaquera, que llevaba con elegancia y seguridad. Amaba los animales y las plantas, y encontraba paz y alegría al aire libre, cuidando con dedicación su jardín. Disfrutaba andar en bicicleta, visitar la playa y, sobre todo, escuchar y cantar música de alabanza, reflejo de la fe que guiaba su vida. Por encima de todo, su mayor tesoro fue su familia. Amó profundamente a su esposo y a sus tres hermosos hijos con todo su corazón, y ese amor se hacía presente en cada detalle de su vida. Su legado de amor, fe, bondad y fortaleza vivirá para siempre en ellos y en todos aquellos que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla. El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 13 de febrero de 2026, de 1:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m., con una Celebración de Vida a las 7:00 p.m., oficiada por el Pastor Jorge Herrera. Los servicios funerarios están a cargo de Rudy Garza Funeral Home en Harlingen. Genoveva será profundamente extrañada y recordada por siempre; su luz continuará brillando en el corazón de quienes la amaron.
