Lucina Alicia Perez

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lucina A. Perez 68, on Monday, July 27, 2025, she entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family. Lucy was born in Harlingen, Texas on January 28, 1957, to Genaro and Isabel Perez. A proud lifetime resident, she attended Harlingen public schools and graduated from Harlingen High where she met her loving partner, Johnny Solis. She later retired from Levis of San Benito where she made many lifetime friends. She lived her life with one constant truth in her heart- that her daughter was her greatest gift, her deepest joy, and her proudest accomplishment. Regina was her one true love; their bond was unbreakable. Together they share countless memories and many adventures. She loved Regina with her whole heart and that love lives on forever. Lucy (Bambo) was a woman who loved deeply and loved with an open heart. She touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and genuine spirit. Her love knew no boundaries and she had a gift for making people feel like part of her family. Her heart could heal, her advice could guide, and her cooking could bring comfort to even the heaviest of hearts. Every meal was made with love, every spoken word carried wisdom, and every embrace reminded you that you were safe and deeply cared for. A natural caretaker and mother to all. She is preceded in death by her parents, Genaro and Isabel Perez, sisters, Beatrice Perez, Isabel and Dan Jaeger and a nephew, Gabriel Cabrera. She leaves a legacy of love with the memory of her daughter Regina and son-in-law Isaac Alejandro and grand-pup Buddy Alejandro, and her partner Johnny Solis. She is also survived by her siblings: Jesus (Janie) Maldonado, Daniel (Lupita) Perez, Jane (Frank) Villarreal, Angie (Hipo) Cabrera, Elena (Julian) Hernandez, Rosie (Richard) Loya, Diana Perez (Bill Smith), Dina (David) Romo, Patricia Perez (Andy Garza), and many nephews’ nieces as well as great nephews and nieces. A memorial visitation will begin on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Angels in Harlingen. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen with Pastor Eli of Faith Pleases God officiating. All funeral services will conclude after the service. We are especially grateful for the comfort and support provided by the staff of Harlingen Medical Center as well as Dr. Shenkenberg. Arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
