Prajedes Gomez Arcaute

Our loving mom Prajedes Gomez Arcaute, 76, joined her family and friends in heaven on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. She was born on January 1, 1947, to Cornelio Gomez and Simona Valdez-Gomez in La Ramones, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Our mom lived her life with style and grace. She danced life away while showing her children how to persevere in this life. She showed us strength and resilience. She showed that family is everything, but most importantly, she showed us love. Because of that love, we are successful, strong and educated independent women. We will forever be grateful that we were blessed with this amazing woman as our mom. Prajedes leaves behind the family she cared for, the family that will forever hold her memories close. Her daughters, Celia Arcaute, Melissa Arcaute Gonzalez (Manuel J. Gonzalez), Diana Arcaute (Joel Pena), Denise Arcaute (Anthony Arias), Her grandchildren, Steven Arcaute, Joseph Cruz, Daniel Hernandez IV (Sarah Mayer), Ruben Bartolome Arcaute IV, Casandra Lyann Arcaute, Sarina M. Cruz, Alyssa M. Hernandez, Mia M. Gonzalez, Ava M. Gonzalez. Her great grandchildren, Aubree Luna Arcaute, Danica Paige Hernandez, Demi Rae Hernandez, Ruben Lorenzo Arcaute V, and Leviathan Ruben Santillan. Her siblings, David Gomez, Sylvia Reyna, and Angie Cisneros along with many cousins from Raymondville and California and her dear friends. She joins her son Ruben Arcaute Jr, Our dad, Ruben Arcaute, her brother, Valdo Gomez, and her parents in Heaven. We are thankful to our pallbearers, Daniel Hernandez IV, Micheal Reyna, Manuel J. Gonzalez, Joel Pena, Anthony Arias, and Joe Pina Visitation will begin on Monday, February 13, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2023, departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 10;00 a.m. with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas. Honorary pallbearers: Alyssa M. Hernandez, Mia Gonzalez, and Ava Gonzalez Funeral services are under the direction and care of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Harlingen, Texas.
