Thelma G. Rodriguez

With deep sorrow and profound love, we announce the passing of Thelma G. Rodriguez, 55, who entered into eternal rest on June 22, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by the embrace of her loving family. Born on March 25, 1970, in Kingsville, Texas, Thelma was the cherished daughter of Jesus and Amelia Guerra. Her life was marked by devotion—to her faith and her family. A long-time member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Thelma found great joy in teaching CCD classes when her children were young, sharing her faith with warmth and compassion. Later in life, she became a dedicated member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she found great joy singing in the choir. Her favorite hymn, "God Will Make a Way," was a reflection of her enduring faith. A loving mother and nurturing soul, Thelma delighted in the everyday moments of motherhood—whether volunteering in her children’s schools, sharing family traditions, or teaching them how to cook. Her greatest happiness came from simply being with those she loved. Thelma is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Patricio Rodriguez, Jr., and their three beloved children: Alexandrea Rodriguez, Patricio Rodriguez III, and Juan Manuel Rodriguez, all of Combes, Texas. Her legacy continues through her siblings: Maria Refugia Guerra of Pasadena, Elisa Ramos (Edward) of Kingsville, Margarita Cantu of Kingsville, Guadalupe Aguinaga of San Antonio, Amalia Davila (Andy) of Channelview, Ernestina Guerra of Corpus Christi, and Jesus Guerra, Jr. of Flour Bluff, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Amelia Guerra, and her infant sister, Guadalupe Guerra. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen, with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. A chapel service will take place on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Combes Cemetery in Combes, Texas. Pallbearers will be Patricio Rodriguez III, Juan Manuel Rodriguez, Alexandrea Rodriguez, Jesus Guerra, Jr., Andrew Davila, and Edward Ramos. Funeral arrangements are under the compassionate care of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas. Thelma will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family. Her light will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know her.
