In Loving Memory of Tomasa Ortiz March 07,1955 - February 09, 2026. With the heaviest hearts, we share the passing of our beautiful mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend, Tomasa Ortiz. She was born on March 07, 1955, and on February 09, 2026, we said goodbye - though our hearts will never truly let her go. Our mom was the heart of our family. She loved deeply, protected fiercely, and gave without ever asking anything in return. She was a devoted wife to Severiano Ortiz Jr., and the most loving mother to Lorena (Jaime) Hernandez, Alberto (Linda) Ortiz, and Juanita Ortiz. Everything she did, she did for her family. Her home was always open. There was always food on the table, advice when you needed it, and hugs that made everything okay. Being a grandma was one of her greatest joys. She loved Bobby, Milinda, Thomas, Matthew, Riana, Alise, Daniella, Diego, and Caroline with her whole heart. She showed up, she cheered loud, she bragged proudly, and she made each of them feel special. And when she became a great grandma to Autumn and Mateo, her heart grew even bigger. The last few years were not easy. She faced medical challenges with quiet strength that inspired all of us. Even when she wasn't feeling her best. She still worried about everyone first. That was who she was - strong, faithful, and full of love. She wasn't just our mom and grandma. She was the glue that held us together. A sister, a friend, a steady voice, and a safe place. Her laugh, her cooking, her advice, her presence - those are the things we will miss the most. There is a space in our lives that can never be filled. But we know the love she poured into us will carry us forward. We are who we are because of her. She will be missed every single day. She will be loved forever. And she will never be forgotten. Her love is the foundation of our family - and that love will never fade. Visitation will be on Monday, February 16th, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 09:00 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. On Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. a funeral departure will be from Rudy Garza Funeral Home to St. Joan of Arc - 109 N. Illinois Ave., Weslaco, Tx. 78596 for Church Service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery- 6705 FM 88, Weslaco, Tx. 78596. Funeral services are under the direction and care of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Mercedes, Texas.
