Yolanda S. Marroquin

Yolanda S. Marroquin, 77, of Mercedes, peacefully passed away on July 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 19, 1949, to Baldemar Sauceda Sr. and Josefa F. Sauceda. Yolanda, a lifelong resident of Mercedes, embraced each day with remarkable strength and unwavering faith. She found comfort and peace in knowing that God was always by her side. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Trinidad Marroquin.; her parents, Baldemar Sauceda Sr. and Josefa F. Sauceda,.; and her brother, Daniel Sauceda. Yolanda is survived by her four children, Deborah Ann (Eloy) De Leon, Dianna Elizondo, Juan Daniel (Tasha) Briseño, and Marissa (†Tomas) Urbina. Two step-children, Juanita Marroquin (Jose) Martinez,; and Marco A. Marroquin(Jasmin).Six grandchildren, Eloy Orlando De Leon III,; Jesus Zepeda III (Roxanne Zepeda),; Christian Dylan De Leon,; Daniella Marissa Briseno,; Ariana Alejandra Urbina,; and Roberto Garza Jr. Seven great-grandchildren, Avia Grace De Leon,; Nolan Paul De Leon,; Carson Daniel De Leon; Easton Gray De Leon,; Noa Elaine De Leon,; Riley Madison Zepeda,; and Avery Isabella Zepeda. She is also survived by three brothers, two sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. After raising her children, she found a new and beautiful joy in watching the next generation grow. Her greatest joy came from being “Grandma.” She loved her grandchildren deeply, was always proud of their accomplishments and loved supporting them in all that they did. Later, she was blessed to become “Granny,” a role she embraced with the same love. Yolanda took great pride in maintaining her yard. She enjoyed cutting her own grass and keeping her yard looking beautiful. Her home was often filled with flowers and seasonal decorations. She had a natural gift for creativity. She especially enjoyed making wreaths. Her talents in crafting allowed her to turn simple materials into beautiful creations. In addition to sharing her creativity, for many years, she volunteered at the Mercedes Early Childhood Center, where she dedicated her time to students, teachers, and staff. Yolanda loved getting dressed up and her sense of style was just one of the many things that made her unique. Though Yolanda will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her beautiful soul now rests in eternal peace, reunited with the Lord she faithfully loved. Viewing and visitations for Yolanda will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, 1:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., a funeral mass will be conducted on Friday, July 24, 2026. at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Mercedes. This will conclude services for Yolanda at this time. Funeral Services are under the direction and care of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Mercedes, Texas.
