Francisco Flores

Francisco Flores, 81, formerly of Harlingen, Texas, went to heaven on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at his residence in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born in Gomez Palacio Durango, Mexico on November 30, 1940. He left high school to serve in the Mexican Military in 1958. Francisco arrived in the United States in 1965 and in 1966 received his legal residency. Francisco was a successful self-employed home contractor and in the summers he and his family traveled to Colorado as migrant workers. In 1976 Francisco served as President of the Texas Migrant Council Head Start Center in Colorado and later served as a Board of Director Member for over 40 years. Before his death, Francisco went into the real estate business in Fort Worth and experienced much success. Francisco enjoyed traveling with his wife to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska and throughout the United States. He took pride in working hard and keeping busy. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, community volunteer and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Francisco Flores, brother Juan Flores and sister Hermelinda Moran. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Isabel, his son, Francisco Flores, Jr. (Lindy) daughters, Sylvia Flores, Berta Flores Cavazos (Paul) and Lulu Flores Miranda, two granddaughters, Laura Miranda Morales and Bibiana Flores, three grandsons, Michael Corpus, Alexander Cavazos and Joshua Cavazos, brother, Alejandro Flores (Maria) and sisters, Juanita Garay (Sylvestre), Guadalupe Flores (Pedro), Licha Torres (Domingo+), Julia Castro (Roman) and numerous family members and friends. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral will take place on Thursday, September 8, 2022, departing Rudy Garza Funeral Home at 9:20 a.m. for a Christian mass at Assumption Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery in Harlingen, Texas. Pallbearers are: Frank Flores, Jr., Michael Corpus, Paul Cavazos, Alex Cavazos, Alfonso Morales and Nasario Miranda. Funeral services are under the care and direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
