Joaquin Guillén Rodriguez, 64, of Mercedes, Tx, passed away peacefully on March 25th, 2022. Born on May 25th, 1957, to Antonio and Eulalia Guillén, originally from General Teran Nuevo Leon. Joaquin married Pilar Huerta in 1988; together they had four children Antonio (+), Ana (Dustin), Joaquin Jr. (Jasmine), Eulalia, and one grandchild, Alexander. Joaquin is remembered as a loving husband, great father, and dedicated grandfather. Joaquin was a devoted Chirstian who was passionate about the word of God and often shared his teachings to others, providing guidance and support to those in need. Joaquin demonstrated exemplary work ethic which he passed along to his children, as he began his extensive career in the service industry at the young age of seventeen. Joaquin loved soccer and was a soccer coach to young men for many years; he enjoyed fishing, watching the Cowboys play on Sundays, and enjoyed praise and worship at his church. Joaquin is preceded in death by his father Antonio Guillen, brother Antonio Guillen Jr., sister Olga Guillen, and son Antonio Guillen. Visitation will be conducted on Sunday, March 27, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 28, 2022. at 10:00 a.m. chapel service will take place at Rudy Garza Chapel and interment will then follow at Mercedes Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Mercedes Texas. Funeral services are under the direction and care of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Mercedes Texas.
