Jose R. Pena, 72, a resident of Merced/Weslaco Texas went to be with our Lord on Friday, March 5, 2021. He was born February 7, 1949 to Guadalupe De Leon and Manuela Rodriguez Pena in San Pedro Mexico. He is survived by his Loving family: 2 daughters: Rebecca Del Cid of Ft. Wayne Indiana, Esmeralda Pena of Ohio, 2 sons: Fernando (Tina) Torres of Ohio, Edgar(Erika) Torres of Indiana, 2 grandchildren: Catalina Del Cid, Tiago Del Cid, sisters: Paula Flores of Santa Rosa, Rosa Ruiz of Mercedes, Isabel Diaz of Mercedes, Maria Trevino, 1 brother; Crisoforo Pena of Mercedes. Jose was a loving and dedicated son, brother, father and grandfather. He loved life and enjoyed every minute of it and lit up a room with his personality. He is and will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from noon to 6:00 p.m. with a rosary at 5:00 p.m. In respect to Jose's wishes this concludes all funeral services of Mercedes Texas. Funeral services are under the direction and care of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Mercedes Texas.
