Rogelio Rios Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

It is with great sadness that the family of Rogelio Rios (Roy) a lifetime resident of Mercedes, Texas announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at his residence at the age of 49. Roy was born on December 10, 1971, in Weslaco, Texas. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sylvia and daughter Karina; mother, Lidia Rios of Mercedes Texas; siblings, Raul (Anna) Rios of Mercedes Texas, Gloria (Rogelio) Vasquez of La Feria Texas, Ramon (Sylvia) Rios of San Benito Texas; sister-in –law Sylvia Rios of Mercedes Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Antonio Rios and brother Roberto Rios. Roy was a family man. He adored his wife and daughter and loved being around family and friends. Anyone who knew him knew he could bring laughter to the room. He enjoyed his life of fishing, golfing, playing poker and living his life to the fullest. His greatest accomplishment was being a dad to Karina, whom he was so proud of and got the great honor of being her personal caddie as he taught her to love the game of golf. He loved being a dad! Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 4th, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. at Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Mercedes, Texas. Funeral services with be conducted on Monday, July 5th, 2021. We will depart Rudy Garza Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mercedes Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction and care of Rudy Garza Funeral Home of Mercedes Texas.
