Rosalinda D. Gorena

January 19, 1945 - February 24, 2022

Rosalinda Gorena, 77, took her place in heaven on Thursday, February 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. When “Rosie” wasn’t caring for her kids, she was checking up on her extended family members nurturing everyone in her path, including the neighbors. She always made time for others and kept up with everyone’s comings and goings. On some of her best days she would love to sit on her favorite chair, waiting to greet or send off her family. Placing herself in that chair also allowed her time to remanence on her belated husband who sat there before. Her love was always pure, timeless, and effortless and her soul patient, nurturing, and kind. Her laugh was contagious. She will be sorely missed. She is preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Gorena, parents Matilde and Tomasita De Leon, sisters; Herminia Gonzales Green, Odelia Villarreal, Magdalena Cisneros and brother Matilde De Leon Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Ira Gorena,;son Marco Gorena, and daughter-in-law Clarissa Gorena. She has two grandchildren: Jaron and Isabella Gorena and two granddogs, Sofie and Oreo and least favorite cat, Isla. Visitation will begin Monday, February 28, 2022 at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and a rosary will be at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church departing Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen at 9:30 AM, burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery. Romans 13:8 “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.”
