Another branch of the tree has broken off. Willie Dean Williams, 93, a good and faithful servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who was looking forward to being a part of God’s kingdom, passed away from this earth on January 23, 2022, in Wimberley, TX with family by her side. Dean was born in Nocona, TX, to James Hiram and Tersie Jane Scoggins (Aulds) on March 23, 1928. Dean worked for Bell Telephone before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Nathan Buryl Williams, on January 26, 1946. She also worked for her son at Jerry’s TV and Appliance in Harlingen for many years. She stayed home while raising her three children. She was like a second mother to many including several nieces and nephews. She loved doing crafts and gardening, as a result she had a beautiful yard with lots of pretty flowers. She was active in the Avondale Church of God serving as secretary and teaching Sunday School. Dean was preceded in death by her parents James and Tersie Scoggins, her husband of 63 years, Nathan Buryl Williams; her siblings: Lois Boyd, Christine Brandon, James Matthew Scoggins, Keith Scoggins, Mary Barnes, Betty Pittman, and Robert Scoggins. Dean is survived by her children; Buryl Layne Williams (Sylvia) of San Angelo, TX and their children Jeffrey Williams and Jennifer Smith (Garrett); Jerry Williams (Michelle) of Harlingen, TX and their children Justin Williams and Jeanenne Forstner (Jude); and Gale Williams (Tracie) of Canyon Lake, TX; along with 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Beatrice Brandon of Anchorage, AK; Bill Scoggins (June) of Houston, TX, Judy Falksen (Cloyce) of Midlothian, TX; along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She loved and was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, January 28, 2022 and from 9:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Rudy Garza Funeral Home at 1702 E. Harrison Avenue, Harlingen, TX. Internment to follow at Combes Cemetery in Combes, TX at 1:00 pm.
