Andrea Cavazos Aguirre

On November 30, 1939, Andrea took her first breath in the presence of her loving parents +Jorge Cavazos Sr. and +Petra De La Rosa at their homestead at Rancho El Sabino, Santa Monica Texas. On February 28th mom took her last breath surrounded by her loving children and beloved family. Andrea, known as “Andy” was blessed with beautiful and supportive brothers and sisters: Delia (+Ismael) Garcia, +Alfonso (+Odilia) Cavazos, +Jorge (Jesusa) Cavazos, Carlos (Gracie) Cavazos, Beatrice Robledo, + Filiberto and +Gustavo Cavazos. We, Delma (David) Cox, Dorina (Ruben) Naranjo and David Aguirre, the children of +Pedro Aguirre Jr. and Andrea Cavazos Aguirre had the honor to have the best and purest example of love, peace, and Roman Catholic Faith. As we move forward in honoring her legacy of, “Everything through peace and love…” Mom was also known as “Grams” and “Grandma” by her beloved grandchildren Jorge, Jacob Lerma, Clarissa and Paul Rios. In addition she was blessed to be a Great-Grandmother to Alize and Ahlianna. “Aunt Andy” was so proud of her beloved nephews and nieces who she prayed for endlessly Nora (David) Barrera, +Roland Garcia, Sonia (Jorge) Gonzales, Bernadette “Bernie” (Gilbert) Galvan, Noemi “Nono” Garcia, Isaac (Rosie) Cavazos, Michael (Norma) Cavazos, Nelda (Aniceto) Alonzo, Alfonso “Ponchi” Jr.(Melissa) Cavazos, Cindy (Norberto) Martinez, Patricia “Patty” (Bobby Rey) Garza, Georgina (Juan Pablo) Izaar, Carlos Jr. Cavazos, Carla Jo Cavazos, George (Wilma) Cavazos, Aurora Alicia “Ali” (Dakota) Robledo-Starsky, Patty (George) Gonzalez, Adriana (Fernando) Falcon, Melinda (Josh) Flores, Bobby Mesa, +Reynaldo Garcia, +Armando Garcia, Melissa (Manuel) Atkinson, Joey (Nerieda) Garcia, Belinda and Michael Rosales, +Zeke, Minnie, Yolanda, Becky, and Noe Cisneros. Mom knew that celebrations and events were always important. In her journey through life she Managed and was the main decorator of Vannie Tilden Bakery for 38 years. Oh how she loved her customers and co-workers. Mom’s work ethic was instilled along the side of +Fred and +Valerie Deyo. It was obvious that mom’s commitment to special events was always evident in her focus on detail and presentation. It was all about the customer with an emphasis on making any event as special, as it should be. Along with her Legacy of commitment and work ethic. Mom always found a time to celebrate her family and friends. Mom engaged in many spiritual and birthday events. But being an Aggie Grandma, she loved her Aggies. Whether it was a football game, basketball game, or baseball game mom made sure to wear her Aggie Grandma shirts. We will add that mom was a little upset with this year’s Aggie – TU game. Mother really lived a full life of 85 years. Her main focus was to instill in us the Legacy left by her Father, “Do everything in the name of Peace and Love…” Mother was the true picture of LOVE, especially to All that knew her. Jorge, grandson, would say, “Man, we can’t go anywhere without someone coming up to Grandma and saying – Is that you Miss Andy from Vannie Tilden? – you made our cake and our celebration so special.” And would add – some would even show pictures… Mom was blessed with such a talent and loveable personality and soul. As a devout Catholic, Andrea Cavazos Aguirre practiced her faith at the Santa Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica Texas. And if not in mass due to illness- she wouldn’t miss Bishop Flores’s Sunday televised mass. In her final days, Mother was honored to be visited by Father Josh, Father Jesse, Father Caleb and Father Alberto along with phone calls from her dear friend Father “Mac” Richard McDonald. A special Thank You - full of love to Mrs. Ramona (Lupe) Ortega her beloved friend and caretaker, Dr. Bahtla, The staff at US Renal, her special nurse Mrs. Laura Guerrero, Mrs. Yvette Cano and staff at “Yvette’s House” and Sonia, Tammy, Sandy and Rudy Garza, III (Rudy Garza Funeral Home). Please know that we truly appreciate the support, services and love for Mom. We would also want to thank all the Family, Friends, and Nun Convents that reached out with support and prayers. Mom leaves us with this prayer: “May the sacrament of our lord open your hearts to his promise. When the sun opens the day, where the road winds its way, where the fields are high with hay, May we see the Lord. Where the leaves are rustling and the markets jostling, where crowds are bustling, May we see the Lord. Where the stars shine on high, where the birds soar in the sky, when the dawn of the day runs nigh, May we see the Lord. And may the Lord bless you in all your days. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” Entrusted to Mother’s Life Celebration is Rudy Garza Funeral Home. Visitation will be held today, Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen, with Praise and Worship from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm, led by Andrew and Ruby Carranco and a Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm. The funeral will held on Monday, March 3, 2025, with the procession departing the funeral home at 9:15 am for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Santa Monica Catholic Church in Santa Monica, Texas with Father Darilus Garcia, Father Caleb De La Rosa, and Father Josh A. Carlos as celebrants. Burial will follow at El Sabino Cemetery in Santa Monica, Texas. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Jorge Lerma, Jacob Lerma, Paul Dorian Rios, Bobby Rey Garza, Norberto Martinez, Michael Cavazos, Isaac Cavazos, Alfonso “Ponch” Cavazos Jr., George Cavazos, and Gilbert Galvan. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas
