Marco Antonio Alvarez

Marco Antonio Alvarez, 58, entered into eternal rest on August 3, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas. Marco was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend whose greatest joy in life was spending time with the people he loved most. He had a warm heart, a generous spirit, and a love for the outdoors that was evident to everyone who knew him. Marco found happiness in fishing, hunting, barbecuing, and woodworking. A loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, he rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite team and enjoyed sharing those moments with family and friends. Above all, Marco treasured his family. He loved being surrounded by those he held dear, and the time spent together brought him his greatest happiness. His love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family will be remembered always, and the memories he created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Marco is survived by his beloved wife, Roselinda Galvan Alvarez of Rio Hondo, Texas; his loving daughter, Michelle Lynn Alvarez of Rio Hondo, Texas; his mother, Inez Alvarez; and his siblings, Arminda Rodriguez (David) of Rio Hondo, Texas, Miguel Angel Alvarez, Jr. (Sally) of La Marque, Texas, Beatrice Cisneros of Rio Hondo, Texas, Ricardo Alvarez (Alma) of Rio Hondo, Texas, Rafael Alvarez (Cherie) of Plano, Texas, and Alyssa Gutierrez (Efrain) of Rio Hondo, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Miguel Angel Alvarez, and his brother-in-law, Juan Dovies Cisneros. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen, Texas. On Saturday, August 8, 2026, the funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Lozano, Texas. The Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Salvador Ramirez. All services will conclude following the Mass. Serving as pallbearers will be David Rodriguez, Miguel Angel Alvarez, Jr., Ricardo Alvarez, Rafael Alvarez, Efrain Gutierrez, Efrain Gutierrez, Jr., Miguel Angel Alvarez III, and Eloy Sebastian Gutierrez. Marco's family will forever cherish the love he shared, the laughter he brought into their lives, and the countless memories they were blessed to make together. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
