Ninfa F. Vasquez

Ninfa F. Vasquez, 93, entered into eternal rest on July 28, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family. Ninfa dedicated more than 30 years of service to South Texas Hospital before retiring. She was a hardworking and compassionate woman whose greatest accomplishment was the love and devotion she shared with her family. The beloved matriarch of her family, Ninfa was the heart that kept everyone together. She treasured every opportunity to gather her loved ones, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. Generous, thoughtful, and deeply protective, she always placed the needs of her family before her own. Her kindness and unwavering support made her a source of strength and comfort to everyone who knew her. Ninfa found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening and had a special appreciation for nature, especially birds. An avid animal lover, she adored her cats and dogs and welcomed them as part of the family. She also enjoyed visiting the flea market, where she delighted in finding unique treasures, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Her daughter, Aurora, lovingly described Ninfa as not only her mother but also her very best friend. The bond they shared was one of unconditional love, and her absence will be deeply felt by Aurora, her family, and all whose lives were blessed by her gentle spirit. Ninfa is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Vasquez Salazar (Juan) of Santa Rosa, Texas, and Aurora Vasquez of Harlingen, Texas; her beloved grandchildren, Jonathan Salazar of Santa Rosa, Texas, and Sierra Zepeda (Lee); her siblings, Zoila V. Pina of Millington, Tennessee, Jose L. Trevino of Harlingen, Texas, Frank Robles (Lupe) of Harlingen, Texas, Ignacia R. Crowe (Mark) of Harlingen, Texas, Noe Robles (Patricia) of Brownsville, Texas, and Jesus M. Castillo of Harlingen, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her father, Guadalupe Vasquez; her mother, Aurora Castillo; and her brothers, Pedro Vasquez, Joaquin Trevino, and Felipe Trevino. Serving as pallbearers will be Jose L. Trevino, Frank Robles, Noe Robles, Jesus M. Castillo, Mark Crowe, and Joshua Crowe. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Rudy Garza Funeral Home. Pastor Eli Hinojosa of Faith Pleased God Church in Harlingen, Texas, will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in La Feria, Texas. The Vasquez family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
