Norma Donez

Norma Doñez, 64, entered into eternal rest August 3, 2026. She was born in San Benito, Texas, on June 2, 1962, to Jesus Doñez and Guadalupe García Doñez, who preceded her in death. Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met. She had a passion for dancing, loved gardening, and was blessed with a true green thumb. Norma was a social butterfly who never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her caring heart extended far beyond her own family. She opened her home to six of her brother’s friends when they had nowhere else to go, becoming a second mother to them and providing them with love, guidance, and support. A woman of incredible strength, Norma faithfully fulfilled the roles of both mother and father to her three children, always putting their needs above her own. Norma dedicated many years of her life as a daycare teacher, where she lovingly cared for countless children until her retirement. Her nurturing spirit, patience, and compassion made a lasting impact on the families she served. Left to cherish her precious memory are her two daughters, Veronica Gonzalez and Yvonne Gonzalez (Juan Medellin); her son, Armando Gonzalez; and the three grandchildren she adored, Johnathan Gonzalez, Hailey Rae Medellin, and Lexi Marie Medellin. She is also survived by her brother, Eduardo Rodriguez (Isha Rodriguez), and her sister, Rosalinda Mares († Ramon Mares), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Visitation will begin Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home and a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home on Monday, August 10, 2026. A chapel service will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Restlawn Cemetery. Though she will be deeply missed, Norma’s legacy of unconditional love, selflessness, strength, and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
