Raquel Maria Anciso

Raquel Maria Robles Anciso, a beloved mother, grandmother, and pillar of faith, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on January 23, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on March 4, 1932, in Burgos, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Raquel emigrated to the United States at a young age, where she worked tirelessly harvesting tomatoes and potatoes alongside her family. Her early years of hard work shaped a lifetime of resilience, dedication, and deep care for others. She married Reymundo Ybarra Anciso, the love of her life, and together they built a warm and nurturing home. Raquel was preceded in death by her devoted husband Reymundo, her parents Anastacio and Elvira Robles, all of her siblings, and one cherished child, Rey Anciso. She is also preceded in death by her son-in-law Tony Montemayor (Kathy). Raquel will forever be remembered as the heart of her family and community. She was an extraordinary mother who not only raised her own children with unwavering love but also opened her home to care for many neighborhood children as if they were her own. Her kitchen was legendary—her homemade dishes were so exceptional that neighbors would eagerly trade steaks just to enjoy her cooking. She nourished bodies and souls alike with her generosity and warmth. Above all, Raquel was a woman of deep and abiding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She lived her beliefs every day, sharing Bible verses and gentle wisdom that guided and comforted countless people throughout her life. Her nurturing spirit, strong faith, and kind heart touched everyone she met. Raquel is survived by her loving children: Kathy, Rose, Jimmy (Mary), Ernesto (Sara), and Juan (Gloria). She was blessed with many grandchildren, including Roy Justin Pena (Holly) and their children Justin Ray and Stetson; Morgan, Megan, Jimmy Ray, Jenny, Ernest Jr., Daniel, Levi Ray, and Savannah (Casey) and their children Glen and Henry. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on through them. Visitation will begin Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM and a prayer service will be at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026 with a chapel service beginning at 1:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home and the procession will depart at 1:30 PM for interment at Restlawn Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Roy Justin Pena, Savannah Leigh Anciso, Ernesto Anciso, Jr., Jimmy Ray Anciso Justinray Anciso and Levi Rey Anciso. Though she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, Raquel has gone home to rest eternally with her Lord Jesus, where she is reunited with those who went before her. A life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a soul now at peace.
