Roland Luna

Roland Luna, age 68, entered into eternal rest on April 11, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Roland was an amazing partner to his beloved wife of over twenty years, Victoria Ochoa, and a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He shared a deep bond with his grandchildren and was a constant presence in their lives — never missing a football game, baseball game, softball game, or recital. His unwavering support and love were a gift to everyone who knew him. He is survived by Victoria and five cherished stepchildren: Armando Martinez (Esmeralda), Margarita Martinez, Jessica Jaramillo (Lawrance), Amanda Lerma (Gilbert), and Danielle Conde (Orlando). He is also survived by his loving mother, Juanita Villegas Luna, and two daughters: Sandra Luna (Yuvia Maldonado) and Jennifer Morado (Guillermo Morado). Roland leaves behind seventeen adored grandchildren: Armando,Jr., Colby, Cristan Martinez, Julisana, Tiana Palmero, Alexis, Kayla, Frankie, Emma, Xander Jaramillo, Gilbert, Anthony, Daniel, Lianah Lerma, Malik, Michael Conde, and Jack Sebern; and three great-grandchildren: Kimberly Estrada-Palmero, Urbano, and Uriyah Hernandez. He is also survived by numerous loving siblings and extended family. Also surviving him are seven siblings: Rene Luna (Armandina Luna), Ruben Luna (Belinda Curiel Luna), Leticia Chenkus (Michael Chenkus), Alma Linda Chavez (Clyde D. Chavez), Jesus Luna, Jr. (Michele Lynn Luna), Lynda Nora Sanchez (Michael Sanchez), and Hemmanuel Luna (Ruby Ann Luna). He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Villegas-Luna. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., for a 2:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, followed by burial at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Gilbert Lerma, Larry Jaramillo, Orlando Conde, Jonray Luna, Michael Chenkus, Jr., and Jack Dakota Sebern. Honorary pallbearers include Daniel Lerma, Malik Sanchez, Makayla Jaramillo, and Armando Martinez. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the incredible nurses and staff at Valley Baptist Medical Center ICU for their care, compassion, and support during this difficult time. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
