In Loving Memory of Sonia F. Ybarra 12/17/1971 - 7/16/2025 Sonia F. Ybarra, 53, a lifelong resident of Mercedes, Texas, went to be with our Lord on July 16th, 2025. She was born December 17th, 1971, to Jose Rodolfo and Maria Meza Flores in Weslaco, Texas. She is survived by her loving family. Husband: Francisco Ybarra Sr. Four children: Francisco (Kayla) Ybarra Jr., Kimberly (Justin) Ann Ybarra, Eric (Esmer) Ryan Ybarra, Brittney (Jaime) Chelsey Ybarra, 10 grandchildren: Kenzie, Amorina, Alaina, Kaylei, Hailey, Kameron, Eric Jr., Adeline, Micheal, Athaleah, and brothers and sisters. It is with broken hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Sonia F. Ybarra, who left this world on July 16, 2025, after a lifelong battle with illness. Though her body bore many trials, her spirit remained unshakable—strong, radiant, and filled with a love that touched everyone she encountered. Sonia was the kind of woman who gave endlessly, even when she had little to give. Her arms were always open, her table always had room for one more, and her heart—oh, her heart—was the anchor of her family and a place of peace for many. Despite her own pain, she showed up for others without hesitation, always offering encouragement, kindness, and compassion. Her resilience was unmatched, her strength quiet but fierce—a true warrior in every sense of the word. Family was everything to her. She lived each day for her four beautiful children, whom she adored beyond measure, and whose lives were shaped by her unwavering love, guidance, and sacrifices. She was a devoted wife, a proud and nurturing grandmother to her ten cherished grandchildren, and a friend whose loyalty knew no bounds. Her laughter could fill a room, her hugs could heal a heart, and her words often carried the wisdom of someone who had walked through fire and still chose to be kind. She taught those around her the true meaning of grace, grit, and unconditional love. Though her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, her legacy will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and all those blessed enough to know her. She leaves behind her loving husband, her four children, ten grandchildren, and a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever. We take comfort in knowing she is now free from pain, held in the arms of peace, and watching over us with the same fierce love she gave in life. Rest well, our beautiful mother.
