Venancia Trevino Martinez, age 91, entered into eternal rest on February 14, 2026, at her home in Sebastian, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Venancia came from very humble beginnings in Mexico. With determination and deep love for her family, she and her husband came to the United States so their nine sons would have the opportunity to attend school and receive an education. Her strength, perseverance, and devotion shaped the lives of generations. She was a beautiful woman, both inside and out, known for her kindness, resilience, and tireless dedication to her family. Venancia lovingly prepared three meals a day for her children and always ensured they were cared for in every way. She often shared the saying, “Todo por servir se acaba,” a reminder of humility and service that reflected the way she lived her life. Venancia will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew her. She is survived by seven sons: Sergio Martinez (Rosalia), Benito Martinez (Patricia), Ismael Martinez (Yoanda), Guadalupe Martinez (Maria Maximina “Minnie”), Antonio Martinez (Martha), Arturo Martinez (Kimberley), and Efrain Martinez (Jennifer); 31 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Guadalupe Martinez, and her two sons, Jesus Martinez and Juan Alberto Martinez. Visitation will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m., and Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to be held at 7:00 p.m. both evenings at Templo Vida y Restauracion en Jesucristo in Sebastian, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Templo Vida y Restauracion en Jesucristo, with Pastor Guadalupe Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Sebastian, Texas. Pallbearers will be Ismael “Smiley” Martinez, Jr., Tony Martinez, Jose Guadalupe Martinez, Miguelito Martinez, Victor Martinez, and Aniceto Martinez. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen.
